Downtown Edmonton is located between 97th Street to the east and 109th Street to the west and 97th Avenue at its most southerly to 105th Avenue to the north. The area of Downtown contains all of Edmonton’s skyscrapers as well as Grant MacEwan University, The Alberta Legislature, Main Public Library, Art Gallery of Alberta, City Hall, new Royal Alberta Museum and the new Arena. Downtown is geographically small (under a square mile) but has a population of about 13,000. When it comes to downtown real estate, the neighbourhood is all condos, most of them highrise. Downtown is undergoing a bit of a boom at the moment with a lot of new developments being approved recently. For more, see my Downtown Neighbourhood Profile.
