Hazeldean Small MapHazeldean is a south side Edmonton neighbourhood that is located just north of 63rd Avenue and south of Ritchie. Much like Ritchie, Hazeldean is a mixed neighbourhood adjacent to Mill Creek Ravine with a combination of houses, townhouses and duplexes. Unlike Ritchie, however, there are very few lowrise apartments and almost everything was built in the 1940s and 1950s – not much thereafter. This means most houses are smaller, but the area is highly desirable nonetheless with around 5% of people looking to sell their Hazeldean home in a year. Schools in Hazeldean include elementary schools Hazeldean and J.H. Picard school. J.H. Picard is also a junior high and a senior high school. Hazeldean is a prime area for redevelopment.
